加拿大物理代写 Obtain a unit-vector expression for a vector C three times the length of A pointing in the direction opposite the direction of A.

Answer ALL questions. (Use g = 9.8 m/s2 )

1.(a) The vector A has x, y, and z components of 8.0, 12.0, and 4.0 units, respectively.

i.Write a vector expression for A in unit-vector notation.

ii.Obtain a unit-vector expression for a vector B one–fourth the length of A pointing

in the same direction as A.

iii.Obtain a unit-vector expression for a vector C three times the length of A pointing in the direction opposite the direction of A.

2.A woman is reported to have fallen 144 ft from the 17th floor of a building, landing on a metal ventilator box, which she crushed to a depth of 18.0 in. She suffered only minor injuries. 加拿大物理代写

Neglecting air resistance, calculate:

(a) the speed of the woman just before she collided with the ventilator,

(b) her average acceleration while in contact with the box, and

(c) the time it took to crush the box.

3.Three displacements are A = 200 m, due south; B = 250 m, due west; C = 150 m, 30.0° east of north. Construct a separate diagram for each of the following possible ways of adding these vectors: R1 = A + B + C; R2 = B + C + A; R3 = C + B + A.

4.A man pushing a mop across a floor causes it to undergo two displacements. The first has a magnitude of 150 cm and makes an angle of 120° with the positive x axis. The resultant displacement has a magnitude of 140 cm and is directed at an angle of 35.0° to the positive x axis. Find the magnitude and direction of the second displacement.

5.A golf ball is hit off a tee at the edge of a cliff. Its x and y coordinates as functions of time are given by the following expressions:

x = (18.0 m/s)t

and y = (4.00 m/s)t – (4.90 m/s2 )t 2

( a ) Write a vector expression for the ball’s position as a function of time, using the unit vectors ˆ i and ˆ j加拿大物理代写

(b) By taking derivatives, obtain expressions for (b) the velocity vector v as a function of time and2

(c) The acceleration vector a as a function of time.

(d) Next use unit- vector notation to write expressions for (d) the position,

(e) The velocity, and

(f) The acceleration of the golf ball, all at t = 3.00 s.

6.A particle initially located at the origin has an acceleration of a  3.00 ˆ j m / s 2 and an  加拿大物理代写

initial velocity of v i  5.00ˆ

i m / s . Find (a) the vector position and velocity at any

time t and (b) the coordinates and speed of the particle at t = 2.00 s.

7.Three forces, given by , and , act on an object to give it an acceleration of magnitude 3.75 m/s2 .

(a) What is the direction of the acceleration?

(b) What is the mass of the object?

(c) If the object is initially at rest, what is its speed after 10.0 s?

(d) What are the velocity components of the object after 10.0 s?

8.A projectile is fired in such a way that its horizontal range is equal to three times its maximum height. Determine the angle of projection?

9.An astronaut on a strange planet finds that she can jump a maximum horizontal distance of 15.0 m if her initial speed is 3.0 m/s. Calculate is the free-fall acceleration on the planet?   加拿大物理代写

10.Two objects are connected by a light string that passes over a frictionless pulley, as in figure below. Draw free-body diagrams of both objects. If the incline is frictionless and if m1= 2.00 kg, m2 = 6.00 kg, and  = 55.0°, find

(a) the accelerations of the objects,

(b) the tension in the string, and

(c) the speed of each object 2.00 s after being released from rest.
