Consider a chain of stores selling three items, referred to as A, B and C, through 10 stores. Each item is produced in its own factory. The three items have the following characteristics:

Item Weight Value Number of items sold per store per day
A 1 kg £10 100
B 10 kg £20 10
C 100 kg £40 10

 

A truck can carry a maximum of 12,000 kg. And each factory has just one truck. The distance between any factory and any store is 100 km. In some scenarios there is also a distribution center which is 70 km from each factory and 70 km from each store. The stores, however, are only 10 km from each other. The distribution center has just one truck with which to replenish the stores. All tours can be completed within one working day. Work out:
