THIS IS A SAMPLE EXAM, AS SUCH, ITS TOTAL POINTS DO NOT ADD UP TO 50. THE FINAL EXAM WILL HAVE 6 QUESIONTS (±1), FOR A TOTAL OF 50 POINTS. THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THIS SAMPLE EXAM WILL BE EXACTLY THE SAME OF YOUR FINAL EXAM, FAMILIARISE WITH THEM SO YOU WON’T LOSE TIME READING THEM DURING THE ACTUAL EXAM.

INSTRUCTIONS Computing and Information Systems
- This exam is open-books, you are allowed to consult any material or website during the exam.
- This exam is an individual exam, you may not cooperate with other students.
- This exam is worth 50% of the overall subject mark (i.e., 50 points).
- Hurdle requirement. To pass this subject (ISYS90081) you must score at least 25 points in this exam.
- This exam consists of X questions, each worth between Y and Z points, for a total of 50 points.
- The points of each question are reported in brackets at the end of each question.
- Each question relates to a scenario.
- Some questions are standalone, they contain both a short scenario-description and the question itself.
THIS SAMPLE EXAM ONLY CONTAINS STANDALONE QUESITONS.
- Some questions follow a lengthy description (1-2 pages) of a unique scenario, and they relate all to such a scenario. In this case, these questions would be provided as “sub-questions” of a unique scenario.

- Answer all the questions on a single Word file. At the top of the Word file write: your name and student ID; the exam date; this subject name and its code (ISYS90081). You may use the template available on Canvas, the file named “ISYS90081-2020S2-solution-template.docx” in the Assessment module.

- A large bank hired you to review and update their process architecture. The project will focus only and exclusively on the process identification phase of the BPM lifecycle. Describe in detail what you would do from day-1 of the project till the delivery of the process architecture artifact. (8 points)
- A large manufacturer hired you as a process analyst. In a BPM project, after producing the as-is process model of a core process, you performed some initial quantitative analysis and found that the cycle time efficiency of the process was very low. Describe in detail what you would do to identify the causes of the low cycle time efficiency. Clearly mention what BPM methods or technology you would use. - You were hired by a large company to discover, analyse, and improve one of their core processes. The company has information systems that collect process execution data in the form of event logs and monitor in real-time the process executions. The company also has process documentation, and the process owner told you that you can set up workshops with process participants to discuss how the process is executed. What would you do to produce the required process model(s)? Your answer should focus only on process discovery, however, you should consider that you are discovering the process model(s) to then perform analysis and improvement. (9 points) End of Exam Paper
