Two part assignment 全球施工管理报告
Part 1 -Investigate, evaluate and develop a deeper understanding of the impact that new innovative technologies or new ways of working may impact on the construction industry.This will include a comparative study on the adoption and use of these technologies and processes across the UK and ASIA (Facilitated through your own self-directed literature research). For instance the use of pod-construction or Nano-technologies.
Part 2- Investigate, evaluate and contextualise how these innovative ways of working and new technologies will impact on the current and future ways your organisation operates and the impact it may have on your profession.
Using a minimum of 6 cited references, this will enable you to critically evaluate the most up to date current thinking behind the use and application of these technologies and innovative practices.
Marking Criteria: – A report produced using in-depth research from various sources.Guideline 3000 words (excluding references and appendices).In order to achieve the minimum grade 40% (minimum pass grade) each student is expected to produce one report for part 1 and a table including supportive evidence of a basic understanding of the subject area using standard available material. The report and table is to be produced in an appropriate manner using relevant illustrations, where applicable.
In order to achieve (highest pass grade) each student must produce a report and detailed table with supportive evidence showing an extensive well researched knowledge of the subject area expressing competent personal opinions and arguments. The report must be electronically produced, well-illustrated, adequately referenced and set out with good use of relevant illustrations. Further details on grading criteria are given below.
The minimum pass mark for this assessment is 40%

Introduction
The introduction of new technologies and new ways of delivering efficient time saving ways of working has sparked a hive of activity within the built environment sector across the world.Many organisations are looking to embrace these opportunities whilst others are waiting to see if the concepts and use of Nano-technologies are all embracing. In particular in this current economic climate many organisations are nervous in embracing these opportunities.
The aim of this assignment is therefore to investigate and evaluate the principles and rationale behind these new technologies and new innovative ways of working and evaluate what are the real tangible benefits for both the construction sector and more specifically your own organisation. This may include the adoption and incorporation of new ways of working such as off-site manufacturing or the adoption of new technologies such as ‘Apps’ or 4th industrial revolution technologies, but must not include BIM.
You will also be required to undertake a comparative study behind the progress and adoption of these technologies and processes across Hong Kong and the UK. This will include a review the current status, thinking and adoption of these practices or new technologies (including reference to why certain organisations are resisting the adoption of these technologies).
Finally you are required to investigate and propose ideas surrounding further innovative processes and/or adoption of future technologies may be utilised as we approach 2025.

Part 1 (40%)
1.Produce an in-depth report on what are the new innovative technologies and innovative processes currently available and incorporated across the sector.
In particular you must also investigate and review how the adoption of innovative practices and innovative technologies are changing the way the sector operates.
Additionally you are required to produce a comparative study table reviewing the reported adoption of these innovative technologies or unique ways of working or delivering services both across the UK and ASIA. This will be done through your own independent research.
(You should use a contextualised blend of both academic and real life case studies, and all supportive evidence should be directly linked to the construction industry.)

2.Investigate and produce a report using the knowledge and information gained from your part 1 investigation and evaluate how these technologies and innovative ways of working are:
a) Currently impacting on the way your organisation/company operates across the sector and in the way it delivers its services to clients?
b) What you feel will be the future impact of these new technologies and ways of working on your organisation between 2020 and 2025? In particular the impact on the way your organisation will operate and how these technologies may provide your organisation with new opportunities in the Built Environment marketplace?
c) What impact will these technologies and new innovative ways of working have on your profession as a construction manager?

Your submitted reports should be submitted as ONE document divided into a minimum of five sections, in a professional format. It should also be fully referenced to include any supportive research, and should ideally be as realistic “real life” as possible.
