1.As a Graduate Engineer placed in the asset management team of an organisation, you have been tasked to evaluate the cost and maintenance performance for four Power Generation Systems and associated equipment. Technical Report代写
The CMMS dataset provided contains records of maintenance data for the system from 2010 to 2020.
1.1 Create a cost of ownership model for each generator (covering all applicable sub-systems).Considering a rate of 3%, generate Cash Flow Diagrams for each generator. Compare the power generators using costs incurred for maintenance for a duration from 2010 to 2020. Explain the process followed and discuss your findings (30%).
1.2 Discuss the performance of Preventive Maintenance (PM01) for each power generator system across the years and propose areas of improvement. Some of the variables to consider could be the frequency and annualised costs for PM01 vs. those for PM02 and PM04 despite performing the PM01 tasks (20%).
1.3 Identify the top three functional locations within each power generator, most vulnerable to unplanned expenditure (PM02 and PM04). Discuss your observations using the information in the“Description” field (10%).
2.Having procured 100 pieces of battery-operated LED flashlights for their underground operations,a mining operator is in the process of developing a maintenance strategy. Technical Report代写
The technical specifications (functional requirements) of the device during its asset life are as follows.
- Lightweight, rugged, maintainable, easy to use
- Powered by four leak-proof dry cell batteries, 1.5V each
- Continuous light mode using white LEDs with intensity of 50 Lux
- 50 hours of battery life, minimum 3 hours of life after low battery health indicator
- High reliability under severe environmental conditions of operation – water ingress, dust, humidity, high temperature, shocks and vibrations
- Shall not cause interference to radio communication
- Layout of the flashlight and typical circuit diagram are provided (Figures 1 and 2) Technical Report代写
You have been tasked to carry out RCM including FMECA for this group of assets.
2.1 Develop an asset breakdown structure for the system. Identify key functions of each sub-system(Please attach any additional technical information used while answering this question) (10%).
2.2 Use the RCM process to generate failure modes for the flashlight (10%).
2.3 Create an FMECA and establish actions for addressing functional failures (20%).
Notes:
a.For the purpose of standardising, please use the RPN tables and FMECA format from subject content
b.Limit the word count of explanations (where required) narrative to 200 words for each of the questions above.
