Polymer chemistry has been much maligned over the last few years with well-publicised examples of the environmental damage that plastic pollution is causing. However, sustainability in polymer science extends beyond plastic waste and there are significant environmental benefits to using plastics over other materials in many applications.

In this piece of coursework, you will assess where polymer science can be advanced to improve its sustainability, or where polymer science can be used to improve the sustainability of another field or application.

To do this you will create a POST note. A POST note is document that is aimed politicians and policy makers that aims to inform them of the current status of an area of science or technology, and how development in this area could enhance society e.g. through health, financial or environmental benefits. A template for your POST note, which also contains further instructions of how to prepare you POST note and links to real examples, is provided on Blackboard.

Merit (65%) Some minor errors in the science but does demonstrate understanding of the key learning outcomes of the course and beyond. Explanations are plausible and reasonably detailed but could be more illuminating.  高分子化学代写
